Mayor Khamsyvoravong of Newport Celebrates Heatherwood Rehabilitation with Proclamation
NEWPORT, RI – On Monday, May 13, 2024, Mayor Xay Khamsyvoravong of the City of Newport presented Heatherwood Rehabilitation & Health Care Center with a proclamation celebrating National Skilled Nursing Care Week from May 13 through May 18, 2024.
National Skilled Nursing Care Week honors the dedication and commitment of all healthcare workers across the skilled nursing industry and celebrates the residents who reside in the centers.
Staff and residents celebrated the proclamation and the mayoral visit outside on the beautiful grounds at Heatherwood. Before the ceremony, Mayor Khamsyvoravong visited with the residents and staff at Heatherwood.
Administrator Adam Simoneau began the ceremony welcoming guests and thanking the dedicated staff at Heatherwood for their caring hearts and year-long contributions in providing quality care to the residents.
Mayor Khamsyvoravong began the proclamation and said, “Whereas, the resilience, empathy and professionalism demonstrated by our skilled nursing staff embody the true spirit of caregiving, enriching the lives of those they serve with dignity and respect; and whereas, we celebrate the residents at Heatherwood their stories, their experiences, and their recoveries, along with the social relationships formed and the life enrichment programs created within skilled nursing centers.”
The Mayor then commended the staff for their dedication to the skilled nursing center and thanked them for providing essential services to the residents of Newport and the greater community.
